HID's Empty
PostSubject: HID's   HID's Icon_minitimeThu Jan 03, 2008 3:37 pm

I'm thinking about ordering HID's from AAC for my maggie. I know I need the 9006xs but mmy question is what temp do I order. They range from 3000k to 12000k. I know they start off white then turning blue and eventually purple. But no idea which temp would be ideal.

Any suggestions?

Usually HID's that are offered by the car manufacturers have a color of about 4300k or so. Anything above 6000k will actually put out less light because they are more blue or purple. 4300k (or something close to it) would give you a nice bright white, with a hint of blue, and be brighter than the stock bulbs. I have heard of using 6000k without any loss of lighting at night, there's plenty of Mustang owners running around with them. 6000k would definitely have a bluish tint, but not be excessively blue.

Installed 6000k HIDs in the lowbeams. Ordering 6000k for my fog lights now if I can figure out which bulb size I need. Its an amazing difference compared to the stock bulbs.

I really want to do this as I feel my stock lights suck balls, but with all the people screaming "ILLEGAL!!!" I'm kinda put off by it. Plus I swear alot at the people whose low lights cause a lot of glare and squinting, and I don't want to be that guy.

Have any of you guys had any direct experience with HIR bulbs? I've heard a ton of good things about them on LXforums.

uh look into the laws and statuetes. there is technically nothing illegal about them as long as they arent colored.

And they have to be positioned at a certain hight.ill see if i can pull up the article. it was just in the paper.

This is where the "you don't have the proper housings" for HIDs come into play.

Eh... screw the arguments against. I'll probably get them when I feel its time for an upgrade.
